Filters
Filters narrow the feed and the calendar to the events worth your time. You can combine as many as you like, and each one answers a plain question.

What you are interested in
Topics group events by subject. There are eleven: Communication & Expression, Language Learning, Critical Thinking & Media Literacy, Entrepreneurship & Business, Digital & Technology Skills, Environment & Sustainability, Political System, Leadership & Self-Development, Culture, Arts & Identity, Health & Wellbeing, and Other.
Pick the ones you care about and the rest drops away.
Where
Country and city limit events to a place. This does more than it looks like it does: as well as events happening in that place, it includes events held elsewhere that are open to people applying from there. That second group is worth its own page — see Finding opportunities abroad.
Online shows events you can attend from anywhere. Online events belong to no city, so this one ignores country and city.
When
Date range limits events to a period — a particular month, a free week, the run-up to a holiday.
Whether you can still get in
Registration open hides events that are no longer accepting people. Useful when you want something you can act on today rather than something to admire.
Searching
If you already know roughly what you are looking for, search by words in the event.
A filter you set once, not every time
The languages you say you can attend in decide which online events you are shown, since an online event can be run in any language and reach you anywhere. If you have not set any, you see them all. This lives in your account rather than in the filter bar — see Profile, language and location.
